Drug discovery and development in 2026: Key trends and innovation

Speaking with Dr Simon Williams, General Manager at PlaqueTec, he describes why the move towards precision medicine is a trend that is likely to continue into 2026.

Simon highlights that two clinical trials investigating an IL-6 inhibiting antibody are due to complete this year, commenting: “These trials could provide decisive insights as to whether such novel medicines can deliver sufficient benefits across broad disease-populations or whether new treatments for CAD must indeed follow a patient endotype-specific, precision medicine course.”
